On November 1st, the ICAI Stroke lab PhD's travelled to Nijmegen for the ICAI lab day, exploring the applications of AI in healthcare. The event started with interesting round table discussions, including implementation of AI in healthcare, explainable AI, ethics of AI, and large language models.
Several presentations from other ICAI labs followed after the round table discussions. Besides presenting results and frameworks of their respective research, the attending labs also shared valuable insights about their experiences with working with AI in health care. Main themes were about using FAIR data principles, how to ensure that AI actually has added value, the importance of large datasets, how to improve sharing data, and how to use synthetic data.
The event finished with a round of poster presentations. Most labs presented one or more posters with an introduction to their lab or some (preliminary) results. We also presented a poster, detailing the different projects within our lab. The poster can be found at the bottom of this page.
We had an interesting day and traveled back to Rotterdam, armed with plenty of inspiration for our own projects.
